Settignano In an antique village of roman origin on the hills over Florence were living famous personalities until the begin of the renaissance: Bocaccio, Antonio and Bernardo Rossellino, Desiderio di Settignano, Tommaseo. Also d‘Annunzio who called the surroundings "colle armonioso" (harmonious hills), Berenson, Telemaco Signorini and Michelangelo who spent his youth here. It is said, that Michelangelo has discovered his passion for scultures here.
